NNrunning partner with Ineos as Kipchoge targets a third marathon gold in 2024. (He will be 40)
Ineos the face of the Breaking2 marathon, has partnered with NNrunning team, which surely sets NN as running’s super power group. Which they pretty much already were.
Eliud Kipchoge said: “To receive the support from such a great entity in sports is a huge boost to myself and the team. We have had a wonderful relationship since we first started working together and have already changed the world together once. I am excited to keep breaking barriers with the support of INEOS on our side. I believe that we can make a strong impact across all sports by sharing our knowledge and experiences with each other. To utilise the greatest minds in sports will continue to allow us to keep pushing the boundaries of running. I am very excited for the future ahead.”
Sha’carri Richardson is now beefing with the sport itself
After a controversial ban last season, just before the Olympics (The rules are stupid) Sha’Carri Richardson’s relationship with World athletics seems to have been diminished further after here comments under one of World athletics’ social media posts. Which had no connection with Sha’carri Richardson whatsoever. Yet she stated “to whoever it concern, I will sue if you mention the name Sha’carri Richardson again.” This only makes you think of the difficulties of commentating races without being able to specifically name an athlete.
It’s a shame. In 2021 I saw Sha’carri as someone who was bringing a positive excitement to the sport…

Union track club bad reception
The highly anticipated new Nike group has had a rough start with a vast majority of people not liking their name or logo. People have also began to mock the ironic name “union” when most of the group usually seem to training separate in different places. Personally, I like the name and logo and the groups calibre of runners are exciting for 2022 and the World championships in their home state.

5K World records
Berihu Aregawi was robbed of the 5K World record a few months ago, after crossing the line in roughly 12:48 with his final time being 12:51. You can time the video on YouTube, it’s clearly 12:48… But now that doesn’t matter as he official broke Joshua Cheptegei’s 5K World record with a new record time of 12:49. 41 seconds ahead of 2nd place!
Ejgayehu Taye’s ran 14:19 which broke the previous mixed race women’s World record by 24 seconds, previously held by Sweden’s Meraf Bahta. The confusion is, this cannot be the official 5K women’s road World record because it happened in a mixed race rather than a woman’s only race.

Nick Willis sub 4 mile documentary
Amazing documentary. Sad ending. We need longer format videos like this, following the build up to race. It allows you to learn a lot more about the athlete and their specific story to that race.
Sadly Nick Willis didn’t run a sub 4 mile for the 20th year in a row.
Valencia 10k
Valencia seems to be the fastest road running city in the World. The recent 10K results fit that trend.
Eilish Mcocolgan 10K short
It appears every 10K race in Dubai has issues. Unable to find further clarification, I can remember Eilish did a race in Dubai last year which went wrong. Well, it’s happened again.
“It was great to be back out racing again this morning in Dubai, but unfortunately a small course change means my finishing time has been adjusted up to 30:50. As much as I'd love to pretend I broke the WR crossing the line, I don't think I'm *quite* in that shape...just yet. 😜
Honestly doesn't matter too much, as my main goal for today was to control the pace over the first half then really test the legs and have a hard run out. ✔️ Really happy to win the race overall, as I had a bit of company over the first 3K before pushing things on solo. 💪”
