Jakob Ingebrigtsen's absence from the European Cross Country Championships marks a significant pause in his title-winning streak of 7 years due to an injury.
Although the severity of his injury is unknown it appears a recent injury involving his sacrum has meant he would prefer to focus on training and not take any risks heading into the Olympic year.

Nike and Alberto Salazar - Lawsuit Settlement
The $20,000,000 lawsuit involving Nike, Alberto Salazar, and Mary Cain has been settled. This case brought to light significant issues within the athletics coaching community. Specifically Cain’s mistreatment by Salazar and the Oregon Project coaching staff.
Although we are not certain of the specifics in this situation. Many similar issues are prevalent throughout the sport, especially where women’s short term performance is prioritised over their long term health.

The Sydney Marathon has passed its first assessment stage in becoming part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, a significant milestone for Australian athletics.

Men's Short Course Relay Trial
A much shorter XC race, 1500m to be exact, which is a race to qualify for the Great Britain Mixed relay team at the European Cross Country Championships (top 2 from each race).
Josh Lay delivered a stellar performance with a time of 00:04:28, to win the mens race.
Adam Fogg closely followed, clocking in at 00:04:29.
Alex Melloy and Tom Todd shared the same timing of 00:04:31 for 3rd and 4th.
Women's Short Course Relay Trial
Bethan Morley led the pack winning in a time of 00:05:06.
Khahisa Mhlanga finished second in 00:05:09.
Kate Axford was 3rd in 00:05:11..
IAAF Junior Categories
Innes Fitzgerald stunned everyone in the Junior Women's category as the Junior Men saw Henry Dover take the win. Both securing their spots on the u20 GB team.
Senior Categories
In the Senior Women's race, Megan Keith emerged victorious with a time of 00:26:02.
The Senior Men's race was dominated by Hugo Milner, who finished with a remarkable time of 00:28:38 for the muddy 9.8K course.

Senior Men: Callum Elson, Calum Johnson, Zakariya Mahamed, Alfie Manthorpe, Angus McMillan, Hugo Milner.
Senior Mixed Relay: Adam Fogg, Joshua Lay, Khahisa Mhlanga, Bethan Morley.
